Sonic Speed AF

The Sonic Speed AF and a quick start-up time give the DMC-3D1 super high speed response that helps to catch even the most fleeting photo opportunities.
Touch AF Tracking
Once the AF subject is selected by touch control, it continues to track the subject even if it moves until you press the shutter. When you're taking images of active children, pets, sports scenes or subjects in a moving object, this function eliminates the need to press the shutter button halfway down repeatedly to readjust the focus.
High-speed Consecutive Shooting
The newly developed MOS sensor helps to realize the high speed burst shooting*1. You can take a series of shots, then choose the ones you like the best and delete the rest.
8 fps with 12.1-megapixel Full Resolution
The DMC-3D1 can fire off up to approx. 8 fps in 12.1-megapixel full resolution*2. Great for capturing fast subject motion, such as sports scenes or animals.

4 fps / 2 fps with AF Tracking
You can snap off consecutive shots at approx. 4 fps or 2 fps with AF Tracking. That keeps the focus on quickly moving animals or children for capturing decisive moments with crisp clarity.

*1 The number of recordable images depends on the memory card size and battery life.
*2 Max. 12 images. The focus, exposure and white balance are fixed with the first picture for the burst.
