Sonic Speed AF

The Sonic Speed AF and a quick start-up time give the DMC-FX90 super high speed response that helps to catch even the most fleeting photo opportunities.

Touch AF Tracking

Once the AF subject is selected by touch control, it continues to track the subject even if it moves until you press the shutter. When you're taking images of active children, pets, sports scenes or subjects in a moving object, this function eliminates the need to press the shutter button halfway down repeatedly to readjust the focus.

3.7 fps in 12.1-megapixel Full-resolution

The DMC-FX90 lets you snap off consecutive shots at approx. 3.7 frames per second in full resolution*1. You can take a series of shots, then choose the one you like the best and delete the rest. You can also select High-speed Burst Mode or Flash Burst Mode from Scene Mode.

*1 Focus, exposure, and White Balance will be fixed to the settings for the first picture. Depending on changes in the brightness of the subject, the recording may be brighter or darker from the second picture.
*2 The Burst speed changes according to the recording conditions.
*3 The number of burst recording pictures are limited by the picture-taking conditions and the type and/or status of the card used.
The number of burst recording pictures may increase when you use a card with fast writing speed or card is formatted.

These functions are also available.

Fast Start-up Time: The parallel processing of software achieves ultra high-speed start-ups.

Short Release Time Lag: The shutter release time lag is as short as approx. 0.005 second, making it easy to capture sudden, spur-of-the-moment photo opportunities.
