The DMC-FZ200 features a high-quality LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 25mm ultra wide-angle lens with a 24x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 25-600mm) that achieves full range F2.8.

The stunningly bright F2.8 aperture at 600mm is the world’s first achievement that has never been accomplished for any digital compact cameras*. It enables capturing a moving subject which is even in distant away clearly with fast shutter speed.

Comprising of 14 elements in 11 groups, including 3 ED lenses and 5 aspherical lenses with 9 aspherical surfaces, this advanced lens unit realizes the outstandingly compact body while delivering exceptional optical performance.

To achieve full range F2.8 with shallow depth of field, high precision correction performance against distortion is indispensable. The DMC-FZ200 integrates 5 aspherical lenses and 3 ED lenses to pass Leica's stringent standards. Notably, the figure accuracy required for the aspherical lens is only within 0.1 um, which can be managed by the unparalleled mold technology of Panasonic Yamagata Factory.

This Small Camera Accepts A Wide Range of Lenses

The side lever on the left side of lens barrel makes it smoother to zoom when concentrating on the shutter operation with the right hand. Focus can also be changed with this lever, which is convenient in video recording.

The Panasonic's black box technology Nano Surface Coating boasts extremely low reflectance ratio and it is applied to DMC-FZ200 for exceptional optical performance with stunning clarity by minimizing flaring and ghosts.

The Intelligent Zoom is an extensive zoom function using digital zoom with minimum deterioration of image quality thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology. The 24x optical can virtually extend to 48x equivalent.

The 25mm ultra wide-angle lens* has about twice the shooting area as a standard 35mm lens. This enhances all kinds of shooting situations, like when you're photographing a group of people at an indoor party or shooting a large structure or sweeping landscape while traveling.

The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) suppresses the low-frequency vibration hand-shake component, which is physically generated when pressing the shutter button or when shooting at night with a slow shutter speed. The POWER O.I.S. also works for powerful zoom shots, which are especially susceptible to hand-shake. Active mode is effective for video recording.
