The newly developed 0.2-inch EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) features 1,312K-dot equivalent high resolution, 100% field of view. Thanks to the increased frame rate from 30fps to max. 60 fps, screen freeze is also minimized making it suitable for shooting fast-moving subject under strong sunlight.
A 3.0-inch 3:2 460K-dot free-angle LCD rotates 180° to the side and tilts 270° up and down. This LCD enables dynamic, artistic framing with high-angle shots and low-angle shots. It's convenient when shooting with a tripod too.
This function allows you to control the zoom operation in 2 speeds, Low and Fast, with the side lever. Slide the lever a small amount for slow zooming, and a larger amount for high-speed zooming.
The focus button serves to activate the variable AF area. During MF operation, it changes to a handy One-shot AF to provide initial focusing. During playback, this function gives you one-touch zoom playback of subjects in focus.
The range of defocus can be adjusted to match your needs.
You can adjust the exposure compensation accurately and easily.
You can adjust the white balance from warm red to cool blue.

Recognition performance varies greatly depending on shooting conditions, i.e., according to factors such as angles, facial expression and lighting, so operation under all conditions cannot be guaranteed. Because the camera searches for faces that are similar to registered faces, there are cases where the faces are not correctly recognized when the registered image and the shooting image varies much. When facial characteristics are similar, particularly between parents and their children or brothers and sisters, the camera may not distinguish the faces.
*5 With some subject and shooting conditions, it is just not possible to judge the best shooting details. When this happens, it is recommended that you shoot with the Scene Mode that best suits your purpose.
*6 In the iA Mode, the Night Portrait is not identified when the flash is turned off.
You can set the ISO sensitivity up to 6400. When the ISO sensitivity step is set to 1/3 EV, the DMC-FZ200 allows you to make fine adjustments and achieve the level of image quality you want.
The High Sensitivity MOS sensor and Venus Engine realize image recording with even higher sensitivity at max. ISO6400 (extended). Images to be shot in low-lit situations are stunningly clear with highly sharp resolution.

With the 1-area AF, the position of the AF area can be freely moved. The AF frame size can also be selected from among Spot, Normal, L, and XL.
In the manual focus mode, not only the focus distance but also the DOF (depth of field) according to the zoom range and aperture is displayed.
In addition, an MF Assist function enlarges the image to make focusing easier.
Ideal for taking dynamic, intricate close-ups of flowers and insects, this feature is also great for rendering artwork and handicrafts in spectacular details and rich expression.
Select the flash synchronization you want from 1st Curtain Sync. or 2nd Curtain Sync. This is effective for capturing nightscapes with a natural flow of light. You can adjust the intensity within a range of ±EV 2 in 1/3 EV steps, too.
Custom Mode 1 lets you register a series of settings you use often, you can instantly recall a pattern of the settings. And Custom Mode 2 lets you register patterns for up to 3 more settings.
Frequently used functions can be quickly retrieved and easily switched by using the Q.MENU button.
You can switch the display configuration depending on your shooting style and personal preference, LCD style or viewfinder style.
