Automatically Optimized Shutter Speed and ISO Sensitivity

Motion Detection - Intelligent ISO Control

The DMC-L10 is the world's first digital SLR* to feature Intelligent ISO control that detects subject movement and automatically adjusts the ISO setting and shutter speed to suit the best movement and light conditions. When it detects subject motion, it automatically raise the ISO setting and increases the shutter speed to prevent motion blur. On the other hand, when the subject is still and no movement is detected, it takes beautifully natural photos with a low ISO setting.

The subject is blurred due to movement. ISO:100 1/8 I.ISO OFF Moving SubjectThe subject is clear even though it moves, thanks to I.ISO function. ISO:800 1/60 I.ISO ON Moving SubjectThe picture of the still subject is very clear because the I.ISO function keeps the ISO setting low. ISO:100 1/8 I.ISO ON Still Subject

Have you ever mistakenly used a high ISO setting to take a photo of a subject standing still? If so, you may remember the noisy, grainy result. Or, if you have tried snapping a moving subject at a low ISO setting, your photo was probably spoiled by motion blur. Intelligent ISO Control gives you stunning images with ease because there is no need for complicated settings.
