High Performance

Powerful mobile technology for the advanced world of Vista

Among the advanced features that let you get the most out of Windows Vista® are process-intensive 3D and other graphical effects used in displaying the Windows Aero interface, and the ability to simultaneous scan viruses while downloading video clips. However, to achieve this and use multiple applications at the same time, you need more computing power than ever before. This also equates to faster battery run down and more heat.
That’s why, in adopting the latest platform, Panasonic got together with Intel to jointly develop Dynamic Power Performance Management Technology, while working independently to create the Panasonic Hybrid Cooling System. We succeeded in providing both high performance and modest power consumption. We bring you lightweight computers with extended battery operation.

Performance boosted upto 40%!
with Intel® Centrino® 2 with vPro™ technology

The latest mobile computer platform combines the Mobile Intel® GS45 Express chipset and new Centrino Intel® Core™2 Duo processors: the ultralow voltage (clock speed 1.20 GHz) SU9300 in the CF-W8 and CF-T8, and the standard voltage (clock speed 2.26 GHz) SP9300 in the CF-F8.
With improved built-in graphics capabilities and other enhancements, this new platform has enough power to operate Windows Vista with ease. It enables both low power consumption and high performance. Compared with previous models, you get a 40% performance boost.

Dynamic Power Performance Management Technology:
jointly developed with Intel Corporation

Vista needs more capable CPUs, but these consume more power and produce more heat. To resolve the issues, Panasonic worked jointly with Intel Corporation to develop Dynamic Power Performance Management Technology. The operating condition of the CPU is finely tuned according to the load and the tasks being performed. While maintaining performance, it has been possible to cut power consumption and hold down heat output.

Panasonic Hybrid Cooling System
Hybrid Cooling System used along with small, lightweight fans.

Normally, there are two ways of managing heat in a mobile computer. First, heat generation can be reduced by lowering the clock speed; in other words, by reducing performance. Another method maintains performance by using a large fan to dissipate the heat. This method adds additional weight and the power drain of the fan. Panasonic uses Dynamic Power Performance Management Technology programming to control heat output and, in the Hybrid Cooling System, a compact lightweight fan to physically dissipate heat. Rather than a large fan, a compact unit with low power consumption provides adequate cooling. Now you can maintain high performance and enjoy light weight and extended battery power.

Equipped with fan control utility for selecting the fan speed

The 8 Series contains a fan control utility. With this you select a fan speed of “Normal”, “High speed”, or “Low speed” in accordance with the task being done or ambient conditions.
