IFA is one of the world's largest exhibitions of electronic products and technologies. The 51st IFA was held this year in Berlin, Germany. The Digital AV Network Zone set up in the Panasonic booth focused on the concept of Smart VIERA, and proposed the wide-ranging fun of a TV that connects to networks and other devices, such as VIERA Connect, a cloud-based Internet service and DLNA products. This zone also exhibited Panasonic's core technologies in 3D and ecology.

The Smart VIERA Monument in the Digital AV Network Zone formed a very impressive presence in the Panasonic booth. Vertical rows of plasma displays, each comprising a stack of eight units, formed a massive circular column. The monument reflected the images of various types of content on clouds travelling to homes with VIERA TVs.

Visitors enjoyed both hands-on demonstrations of the content in each category and on-stage presentations.
Smart VIERA lets you enjoy a wealth of content, centring on HDTV, in a highly flexible way that suits your lifestyle through Internet and home network connections. One of the features that makes this possible is VIERA Connect, a cloud-based Internet services. In Europe, this service offers content in seven categories — Video & Movie, Music, Sports, Games, Social Networking, News & Lifestyle and Health & Fitness.

In the Games Corner, game lovers had fun with Asphalt 5*, a power-packed car race (available on the VIERA Connect Market).
* Asphalt 5 is available only in the U.S., as of September 2011. This game requires purchasing.

The Health & Fitness Corner prominently displayed the iFit app for VIERA Connect (by ICON Health & Fitness). By combining VIERA TV with an exercise machine, the iFit app lets you exercise casually while watching TV. Connecting a treadmill to the iFit app through Wi-Fi lets you walk or run virtually anywhere, anytime, by displaying Google Street View images. This app is scheduled for release in the fall.

DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is an industry organisation with many home appliance makers and computer manufacturers as members. Devices that comply with the DLNA standard can transfer digital photos, music and videos wirelessly from room to room through a home network, regardless of the device brand or manufacturer.
This corner introduced the benefits of home networks. For example, a home network lets you watch a recorded programme in the living room as well as in other rooms, such as a bedroom, home office, child's room or kitchen.

This corner introduced 2D-3D conversion technology. It makes even familiar 2D media and personal videos more refreshing and fun.
Other 3D-compatible products on display included FULL HD 3D home cinema systems, digital cameras and camcorders, Blu-ray Disc™ players/recorders, sound systems and 3D projectors. The 3D Shooting Corner let visitors handle and operate new digital cameras and camcorders.
