TV setting information is automatically downloaded to the recorder when it's connected to VIERA with an HDMI cable. This eliminates the need to make cumbersome channel settings.

If you want to record the programme you’re watching, you can start immediately by pressing the VIERA Link button on the VIERA remote control and selecting “Direct TV Rec.” on the VIERA Link menu screen. You can also start Direct TV Rec. by pressing "Direct TV Rec." button on VIERA remote.

Pause Live TV lets you freeze TV programmes just like pausing a DVD, by selecting "Pause Live TV" on the VIERA Link Menu. The TV programme is temporarily saved on the hard disk drive so you can watch the rest of the programme, right from the stopped frame, at a later time.

* When 8 hours pass since the programme was recorded, for standard definition models, the image is deleted in successive 30-minute lengths, and for high definition models, the recording stops.

As the types of media continue to increase, the VIERA Link capability continues to evolve. The newly enhanced VIERA Link displays a menu on the TV screen, making it easier to operate the connected equipment.

When the recorder playback starts, the TV's input automatically switches to the recorder. There is no need to use "INPUT SELECT" to display the playback content.
