Blu-ray Technical Development and Production Bases
Panasonic conducts all of its Blu-ray activities, from basic technical development to product development and manufacturing, as an integrated, in-house process. Many of the resulting technologies are patented, and many "black box" technologies are involved.

We have also won considerable acclaim and a reputation for reliability for the image compression technologies and related know-how that we accumulated through our advancement of optical discs. These technologies are now helping to produce high-quality images for movies and other applications. Our technical departments have joined forces with the intellectual property and legal departments at our head office in a wide variety of activities aimed at promoting BD standards, including the verification of BD-compliant equipment and active participation in the Blu-ray Disc Association.

Panasonic's Blu-ray technical development and production bases are presented here.
