About Panasonic
Corporate Citizenship Activities

Underlying our corporate mission since the 1920's is the idea formulated by our founder, Konosuke Matsushita, that the corporation, as a public institution, is "only able to exist if it receives the support of society and therefore, in turn, must contribute to society." In adherence to this mission, Panasonic is committed to an extensive number of citizenship activities around the world focusing on two key areas: the next generation, and the environment, in addition to providing assistance for disaster relief.
*Introducing the activities of the Panasonic Global Citizenship Activity Support Program
In 2009, the Corporate Citizenship Group launched the Panasonic Global Citizenship Activity Support Program. This program provides financial assistance to volunteer and citizenship activities being promoted by Panasonic employees and their families, in order to help further invigorate the corporate citizenship activities all over the world. The overseas aid started in Europe in December 2009, and a total of six grants were made in this first fiscal year (two in the Czech Republic, and one each in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Hungary).
This article introduces two activities, one from Italy and one from the Czech Republic, that have benefitted from this program.
