Global recognition for Panasonic's CSR activities

Panasonic has been awarded "SAM Gold Class" by SAM Sustainable Asset Management, a Swiss asset management company for sustainability investments. (January 2009)

Every year SAM awards "Gold Cass" "Silver Class" and "Bronze Class" to companies with the strongest focus on sustainability out of approximately 360 sustainability leaders among the 2,500 largest companies in the world.

Panasonic has been selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes (DJSI World), the major global indexes used for assessing the performance of companies in terms of corporate social responsibility (CSR) for the fifth consecutive year.(September 2009)

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes are one of the world's most highly recognized socially responsible investment (SRI) indexes developed through a cooperation of Dow Jones Indexes in the U.S. and two other companies. Every year, the top 10% of companies are selected to form the index according to a corporate sustainability assessment of 2,500 leading companies worldwide.

Panasonic has been selected on the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific 40 Index (DJSJ Asia Pacific 40) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Japan 40 Index (DJSI Japan 40).

The DJSI Asia Pacific tracks the top 20% out of the largest 600 companies in the developed Asia Pacific markets. "DJSI Asia Pacific 40" measures the performance of the largest 40 sustainability leaders out of these. "DJSI Japan 40" measures the same of the largest 40 sustainability leaders in the country.
