Environmental Activities

Panasonic Corporation of China (Panasonic China) was awarded the China Green Company Award at the Second Annual China Green Company Conference in Beijing, which was hosted by China Entrepreneurs Magazine, Daonong Center for Enterprise and Guanghua School of Management at Peking University from April 22 to 23.

The China Green Company Award accredits companies with development potentiality and sustainable competitiveness in terms of five aspects such as environment, society, business, culture and innovation. In the fiscal year 2008, which is the second year of the Award, ten foreign-affiliated companies as well as ten from China were praised. Panasonic China won the Award for its original environmental technologies and active environmentally-contributing activities in China.

At the awarding ceremony on April 23, Kunio Kawase, Director of Panasonic Corporation of China said:“I’m very honored that our environmental activities promoted by 100 thousands of employees at 80 group companies throughout China were highly evaluated. We are determined to expand our activities more as a corporate citizen in order to contribute to China.”

Panasonic has been promoting group-wide China Eco Project since 2007 and announced its Declaration of Becoming an Environmentally-Contributing Company in China in Sep. 2007. We are committed to contribute to environmental preservation in China by the development of environmentally-conscious products and promotion of various activities.
