Environmental Activities

Manaus, Brazil - On April 16, Panasonic Brazil received the Environmental Merit Certification from the Instituto Brasileiro de Defesa da Natureza (IBDN, the Brazilian Institute for the Protection of Nature). Panasonic Brazil’s Manaus factory is actively engaged in environmental activities, such as environmental education for employees' children, tree planting, and the donation of tree seedlings for the protection of the Atlantic Forest.

Especially its children education program was highly evaluated. Started in 2008, children of employees (6-12 years old) are invited to the factory to receive environmental education around themes such as garbage separation and water conservation. Panasonic Brazil plans to expand this program to include children from local public schools.
