Panasonic Exhibits at the 6th Eco-Products International Fair in Indonesia

The Eco-Products International Fair (EPIF) is Asia's largest international exhibition of environmentally-conscious products and services. This year, the 6th EPIF was held based on the theme "Green Productivity to Enhance Competitiveness" at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia from March 4 through 7, 2010.

The event is held annually in Asia and is organized by the Asia Productivity Organization (APO). Last year, it was held in March 2009 in Manila, the Philippines. This year's event was organized by the APO in collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as 35 Japanese companies, 119 Indonesian companies, one company from the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand respectively for a total of 157 participating companies and groups, thus setting a new record. During the four days, a total of some 90,000 visitors attended the fair.

The Panasonic booth hosted an environmental event called ‘eco ideas’ Experience and the following zones were well received by the visitors.

  • Eco Quiz Corner
  • Environmental Technology/Product Corner (U-Vacua insulation panels, lighting, inverters, water conservation)
  • Eco Activity Stand Section
  • Eco Globe Stage

In addition, exhibition corners featuring VIERA, inverter refrigerators and air conditioners, "Alowa+ Series" for refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners targeting the high-volume segments, LED light bulbs, energy-saving fluorescent lights, floor wiring system, and the rock wool deodorizer system, as well as an exhibit of the various initiatives that the Panasonic Eco Technology Center (PETEC) are working on. With these exhibitions, Panasonic presented its wide range of environmental activities to the visitors.

Many VIPs visited the Panasonic booth such as Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Muhaimin Iskandar on the opening day, March 4; Minister of Industry Mohamad S. Hidayat on the third day; and Coordinating Minister of Environment Gusti Mochammad Hatta on the fourth and last day, March 7.

Around 15 journalists were invited to tour the booth on the first and second days of the event. President Suganuma and PGI Vice President Rinaldi made their commitment to environmental initiatives.
