Panasonic featured in Global 500 CDLI 2011

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) announced its nineth survey results on the world's largest companies in regard to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and strategies for climate change on September 14, 2011. Panasonic has been highly scored for its environmental disclosure, being listed in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) .

The CDP is an independent not-for-profit organization which represents 551 institutional investors with $71 trillion in assets under management. The survey highlights climate change related issues and covers the largest corporations worldwide including companies in the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (Global 500).

Based on the responses given, the companies which have displayed the most professional approach to corporate governance regarding climate change information disclosure practices are listed in the CDLI. In 2011, 404 of the Global 500 companies disclosed their information to the CDP and 52 of those companies were selected for the CDLI. This is the fourth time Panasonic has been in the CDLI, previous occasions being 2007, 2008 and 2010.

Exercising open environmental sustainability management which makes the “environment” central to all its business activities, Panasonic aims to become the No. 1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry in the year 2018, the 100th anniversary of its founding.
