‘eco ideas’ Strategy

On October 5, 2007, Panasonic announced ‘eco ideas’ strategy to accelerate its activities to realize one of the twin business visions, ‘Coexistence with the global environment’, and promised to promote three ‘eco ideas’initiatives. We are committed to ‘Advanced eco’ in all our activities, as well as reducing CO₂ emissions from our production activities, and will implement our ‘eco ideas’ Declaration as the pillar for our environmental sustainability management activities. The declaration focuses on the following three initiatives:

‘eco ideas’ for Products

We will produce energy-efficient products.
In addition to giving environmental consideration to materials and promoting recycling-oriented designs, we will accelerate the development of energy conservation technologies as our biggest target in implementing ‘eco ideas’ for Products. Based on this concept, we will increase the number of products with the No.1 energy efficiency performance in the industry, while eliminating products with low energy efficiency.

‘eco ideas’ for Manufacturing

We will reduce CO₂ emissions across all our manufacturing sites
We will improve productivity in all our manufacturing processes, including product planning, procurement, marketing, logistics, and recycling in addition to production activities at factories, thereby reducing CO₂ emissions in all the Group's activities.

‘eco ideas’ for Everybody, Everywhere

We will encourage the spread of environmental activities throughout the world
We will expand 'eco' activities to local communities throughout the world jointly with not only our employees but all people in society. We are also working on two-way communication with stakeholders while disclosing information on our environmental activities in an easy-to-understand manner.
