Grace Leng is passionate about teaching and making
education more interactive, engaging and fun. Working
with both individuals and organizations, she has more than
10 years of experience in creative and experiential teaching,
curriculum development and instructional design. Among
her previous work are the development of curriculum and
training materials for park watch volunteers; development of
health education lesson plans and teaching aids for kindergartens; and design of interdisciplinary
lessons for selected primary and secondary schools. Apart from curriculum
design, Grace is also an active trainer, and conducts experiential learning programmes with a
main focus on Science for teachers and students, both in and out of the classroom. As a trained
biologist, she delights in bringing young and old learners alike on field trips to experience and
be inspired by the original source of creativity in nature.
Grace Leng is the Director of CreativeKids Pte Ltd, a company she has founded to provide
programmes and products that deliver fun and engaging learning experiences for all ages. She
is married with four children.
Educational Experience
Trained as a biologist, Grace obtained her Honours degree in Zoology at the National
University of Singapore. After graduating, she undertook research work in marine biology as
part of the Reef Ecology Study Team, National University of Singapore.
Grace is one of Singapore Tourism Board’s Registered Nature Guides for Singapore. She
specializes in marine and forest ecology.
Consultant
She was a consultant for the Science Exploria, a science hub of the East Zone schools, Ministry of
Education, Singapore. She has edited a series of four Teacher Resource Books, developed by teachers
in the East Zone.
