Communication

To promote our environmental activities it is essential to enhance our employees' awareness for the environment. With this in mind, we focus our activities on our daily lives so that employees will feel closer to their environmental problems.

Environmental Photo Competition

Our environmental photo competition has been held since 2007 with an aim to have our employees feel the importance of the environment by taking environment-related photos and seeing many photos themselves.
We displayed photos on a panel till 2012 for visitors to the exhibition to see the impressive work of photos. In 2013, we started to release photos on the Internet so that many more people can enjoy them.

The strength and gentle warmth of the sun comes through in this photo. The spikes piercing the lake’s surface provide a touch of civilization, and the birds flying in the sky offer a glimpse of the workings of nature.

Rising sun
Rising sun
The sky of nature-rich western and northern areas of the lake is high and the air is clear. That's why it's famous as a landing zone for migratory birds. The sun rising from the opposite shore of Lake Biwa reddens the lake surface and combines with the silhouette of Mt. Ibuki to create beautiful scenery. I can't tear my eyes away.

It's as if you can hear the sound of children frolicking on the yellow carpet. This photo embodies the ginkgo tree's tenderness as it seems to watch quietly over the people living out their lives below.

Along my usual walking route, I saw a neighborhood friend riding a bicycle with a child on the back on the yellow carpet in the park. In the big ginkgo tree, I saw the future of children, who will bear the next generation, sparkling in gold.

Countering the beautiful ultramarine blue of the mountains and the blue surface of the lake is the rugged, inhospitable feel of the lake's edge, offering a reminder that Japan is still a volcanic area.

Thinking back to ancient times
Thinking back to ancient times
Heijo Palace was located in the Heijo-kyo 1300 years ago. In Autumn, spikes of silver grass flutter in the wind. In the evening, the sun setting below Mt. Ikoma turns the sky red. Something touched my heart when I imaged that residents of the ancient capital also enjoyed the same sun.

Just one year from the day when a mother with her daughter held in her arms watched the sunset wondering "Will it be fine tomorrow too?" The red sand beach remained unchanged from that day spreads below the feet of the beloved daughter who stands now on her own feet.

To live in the desert
To live in the desert
Camels and Berbers have been lived under the burning sun in the desert where only red sand spreads. The spread of desertification caused by environmental destruction is everyone's problem. However, it is said that the intrinsic desert is necessary in terms of the transpiration of the water in soil. Therefore, we should keep the advantage of such adaptability.

I visited Echizen Beach, a place noted for beautiful sunsets. Enjoying fresh seafood while viewing a wonderful sunset. A star-filled sky above fishing lights at night. I truly felt that human beings are unable to live without the blessings of nature in every aspect of life. The next morning, when I was looking at the peaceful seaside from my room, a small boat stood out to sea to harvest wakame seaweed. This photo shows a couple landing fish on the beach. The combination of life and nature inspired me.

People say that the water lily is a mysterious flower with its flower petals and leaves floating on the water, and flowers that open in the early morning and close in the evening, seemingly sleeping. In summer, the lily bears white, yellow and red flower petals floating on the water. I think the white-flowered lily is the prettiest.
