A presentation introducing the new spring "LUMIX" models recently released is being held on the main stage of the Panasonic booth at CP+.

The main stage is actually surrounded by 24 "LUMIX G" series models and compact cameras, and it also serves as a shooting corner that lets you take photographs of the presentation and test out the cameras for yourself. The presentation begins with a rhythmical tune and appearance of female models, but it is crowded every time, it reminded me of a pop idol concert.

During the part of the presentation that introduces the "LUMIX G2," which comes equipped with a touch-control movable LCD, you can try out the actual camera by shooting the model as she walks up and down the stage. This way you can see for yourself how when you touch her face on the LCD screen the camera brings her face into focus or also test out the "AF Tracking" function that keeps the model in focus even if she is moving around.

The first year of the comprehensive camera and photo imaging show, CP+, has just begun! The weather throughout Japan has been cold and tough with snow and wind during the past few days, but today, the area near PACIFICO YOKOHAMA, the CP+ venue, is blessed with cloudless blue skies! Thanks to the spring-like warm weather, many people are already here even though the exhibition has only just begun.

You can find a great line-up of the "LUMIX" series, including the new "LUMIX G2," a digital interchangeable lens system camera released only few days ago at the Panasonic booth. The new camera is already drawing great attention and visitors are picking it up and checking it out for themselves. I have quickly looked around the booth and found many other interesting products, too, so I will write more about them in detail later. I better get started!

Hi everyone. It’s been a while! I’m hiroyuki. I have not reported on exhibitions for the Cyber Showcase Blog since GITEX 2009 held in October last year, but I will soon be covering a new exhibition called CP+, which will take place in Yokohama from March 11th to 14th.

The name CP+ may not sound familiar to many of you. Its official name is "Camera & Photo Imaging Show" and it is a comprehensive camera and photo imaging show for consumers and businesses, which will be held for the first time this year. The Photo Imaging Expo used to take place around this time of the year (which was also introduced in this blog) until last year. But this year, information on a wide range of state-of-the-art camera and imaging products and technologies, mainly focusing on digital imaging, will be communicated not only to people in Japan, but all around the world at this new exhibition, CP+.

In addition to showcasing information about products and technology, CP+ will also include various events that introduce the joy of photography and its culture to the general public. The very friendly key visual used on the official CP+ website is very striking.

New spring models of digital cameras are released from many companies this time of the year. Panasonic, too, has just released the new "LUMIX" models. A whole range of new products will be available at the CP+ venue and visitors will be able to test them out for themselves. I’m very much looking forward to the opening of the event!
