Corporate Stage

Panasonic has been promoting the “3D Value Chain” made possible with the SD Memory Card, DVD, and DTV (digital TV). Panasonic has been a leader of high definition in every quarter; from professional broadcasting equipment to digital TVs for home use. And now, we have taken another step forward. Panasonic is now promoting the “HD 3D Value Chain.” Let us introduce an enhanced and comfortable audio-visual lifestyle created around digital TV through the “evolution and expansion of high definition” and the “easy and convenient network.”

The large-screen, high resolution digital TV, “VIERA,” has always been a forerunner in the world of high definition. The world’s largest 103-inch flat-panel plasma TV as well as other members of the “VIERA PZ600 Series” evoke the true beauty of full high definition. In addition to the features - “fast moving image response,” “broader viewing angle,” and “unparalleled color reproducibility” - of the plasma panel the newly developed “full high definition plasma panel” has approximately double the number of pixels, and the high image quality technology “Full High Definition PEAKS” will perfect a higher precision, higher resolution visual representation.

The complete large screen plasma TV “VIERA” line-up, including the full high definition models have amassed a unique black box technology only realizable by Panasonic because it is vertically integrated from key device development such as semi-conductors and panels to commercialization. In order to meet the growing global demand for large-screen TVs, Panasonic has erected its fourth plasma manufacturing plant equipped with an enhanced production black box technology, making Panasonic’s production capacity of 11.52 million TVs in 2008 the world’s largest.

Panasonic also meets the demand for small and medium size flat-panel TVs. IPS LCD panels have overcome the traditional shortcomings of LCDs, giving way to “LCD VIERA,” which has a “broader viewing angle” and “faster moving image response.” From 15-inch LCD to 103-inch plasma, the complete 19 model digital TV “VIERA” line-up has been perfected. Panasonic will continue to be a pioneer of high definition with its large screen TVs, high resolution, and expansive line-up.

Digital TV “VIERA” has also evolved in other ways. “VIERA Link” is a simple and convenient network which links Panasonic’s digital equipment around the revolutionized “VIERA.” This synergy is created by connecting the TV, DVD recorder, and audio system with the “HDMI Cable” which enables easy and convenient control over these equipment with a single remote control. And with the “HDMI Cable” cluttered wiring can now be simplified.

Digital camera “LUMIX,” “VIERA,” and other digital equipment brought together by the “LUMIX Link” will offer a new way to enjoy photographs. The whole family can view your photos taken with the “LUMIX” on the large display “VIERA” by inserting the SD Memory Card into “VIERA.” You can easily store the photographs on the hard drive or DVD-RAM using “DIGA,” and you can print your photographs at home on your “Home Photo Printer;” the ways to enjoy your photographs are certainly expanding.

A world of digital equipment linked by SD Memory Cards. Let’s take music for example. You can store your music on your “D-dock,” then it can be transferred onto a SD Memory Card to enjoy it on your “D-snap,” “Strada (car navigation system)” or mobile phone. With SD Memory Cards, you will have full command over music, photographs, and video clips, transcending beyond the traditional equipment constraints. And “VIERA Link,” “LUMIX Link,” and the link created by the SD Memory Cards offers an inclusive and convenient audio visual lifestyle.

With “BD (Blu-ray Disc),” the next generation mass storage media with 50GB capacity, will offer high definition an additional aspect of fun. The influx of the world’s first BD-Video playable high definition BD recorder, “Blu-ray DIGA.” With the BD-Video you can enjoy the high resolution of a 1080p progressive playback and the dynamism of the maximum 7.1 ch surround sound. Panasonic undertakes all aspects of blu-ray discs from encoding to authoring to manufacturing.

Next we have the high definition digital video camera and the SD Memory Card developed by Panasonic that is compatible with the AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition). Up to 85 minutes of high definition footage may be stored on the 4GB SD Memory Card. And the high definition digital video camera is embedded with the newly developed “high definition 3 CCD camera system.” If you transfer the data to the “Blu-ray DIGA,” you can create a blu-ray disc high definition library. You may also enjoy your cherished moments on the “VIERA” in high definition not on tape or hard disc but on a SD Memory Card.

Digital SLR camera “LUMIX L1” and the “LEICA D VARIO-ELMARIT” lens with optical image stabilizer (MEGA O.I.S.). The “LUMIX L1” made a clear departure from the existent digital SLR with a live view that offers an extensive scope of photographic opportunities and a non-dust system that prevents dusts from entering when exchanging lenses. If you insert the SD Memory Card with the high resolution photographs taken with “LUMIX L1” into the “VIERA,” you will be able to enjoy them on the full high definition large plasma screen. Panasonic will change the way you enjoy photographs with high definition.

The “evolution and expansion of high definition” and the “simple and convenient network” revolving around digital TV. High definition has become more magnificent and more beautiful, more advanced than ever before. And it communicates the passion and emotions of movies and music. These come together to create a lifestyle where everyone may readily enjoy high definition when they want, as much as they want. “Living in HD - an enhanced lifestyle begins with high definition.” Please look forward to Panasonic’s vision of a future.
