The Olympic Games - where the world's greatest athletes gather in a celebration of peaceful coexistence and sports. Since Calgary 1988 Olympic Games, Panasonic has continually supported the Olympic Games as an Official Worldwide Olympic Partner with state-of-the-art video technologies. And at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, with video and audio equipment and professional systems selected for official broadcasts such as the "DVCPRO P2HD" series, Panasonic will bring the wonder and excitement of the Olympic Games to the world using high definition technologies. With consumer electronics such as plasma displays that deliver thrilling, action-packed scenes we will provide end-to-end support.
Panasonic has once again proved itself as an industry leader in the field of flat-panel TVs, offering the world's largest plasma display panel at a whopping 103-inches. In order to achieve even higher image quality, we have produced a "1080p full high definition plasma panel" that offers higher performance than ever. This high-performance, full high definition plasma display is a result of Panasonic's vertically integrated production system, which incorporates black-box technologies unique to Panasonic in key devices such as semiconductors all the way to panel development. Panasonic plans further expansion of its mass production system, already among the largest in the world, to ensure stable product supply and respond to the growing demand for flat panel displays. The "VIERA" series, which includes the world's largest plasma display at 103-inches, features both a range of plasma displays and a broad lineup of LCD displays to fit every customers' lifestyle.
Panasonic presents not only the "VIERA," but Blu-ray Disc players and high definition camcorders, further enhancing its range of high definition digital devices. The "VIERA" can be connected to these other devices quickly and easily using the "VIERA Link," which is designed to support new lifestyles. By connecting various devices on the network via HDMI cables, all of these devices, which were once controlled separately, can be operated with a single "VIERA" remote control. And with a convenient SD memory card network, simply insert an SD memory card from a "LUMIX" digital camera directly into the "VIERA" SD card slot to view your treasured memories on your own TV screen. You can also use SD memory cards in the same way to play back videos captured on an HD Camcorder. Thanks to Panasonicfs gVIERA Link,h which connects the "VIERA" with a wide range of devices, anyone can expand their world of high definition enjoyment simply and conveniently.
To create a new culture of photography, Panasonic has introduced the "L10," which brings new life to the world of digital SLR cameras. With Full-time Live View, the "L10" is the world's first digital SLR camera to incorporate face detection and motion detection. Panasonic's "L10" makes the world of digital SLR photography more accessible and ensures expressiveness in digital photographs that will satisfy even the most demanding of photographers. Panasonic's new "LUMIX" lineup of compact, stylish new models, feature an "Intelligent Auto Mode," making the cameras simple to use. Along with the "FX55" and "FX33," Panasonic presents the most extensive lineup of 28mm Wide Angle cameras in the industry. The "FZ18" is also equipped with a 28mm Wide Angle 18x optical zoom lens. The new "LUMIX" brings a new kind of pleasure to photography.
Panasonic's popular "HD Camcorder" is back too, and is more compact than ever. This "HD Camcorder" is the first in the world capable of recording 1080i full high definition video on SD memory cards. The "SX5" in particular combines both SD memory card and DVD recording functions in a single compact body.
Panasonic will continue to enhance its lineup of high definition digital devices that will enrich the quality of customers' lives, offering ways of combining these many devices to bring about a new style of "Living in High Definition." We will also continue contributing to "the realization of a ubiquitous network society" and striving to "living in harmony with the global environment."
