Time Capsule
Time Capsule
At the World Exposition held in Osaka in 1970, Panasonic built the Matsushita Pavilion and displayed a time-capsule.
After the exposition, two identical time capsules, each containing 2,098 separate items and recordings, were buried under the Tenshukaku-mae Plaza Osaka Castle Park, one of them 10 meters underground and the other at a depth of 15 meters. On March 15, 2000, the former was dug out of the ground for inspection for the first time in 30 years. It will be unearthed and inspected every 100 years from now on. But the other is to be dug out in the year 6970, 50 centuries after its burial! You can see a replica of the time capsules in the museum.
