March 8, 2012 Osaka, Japan–Industrial Devices Company, Panasonic Corporation has succeeded in commercializing the “power choke coil for Automotive“, featuring compact size , large current capacity and the lowest DC resistance value on top level in the industry(*1). Newly developed power choke coils are suitable for power supply circuits used in Electronic power steerings, Electronic braking systems, and idling stop systems.

Electronic braking systems to be installed in Automotive have been changing from ABS (anti-lock braking systems) to ESC (electronic stability-control systems). To increase stability of vehicles, larger capacity of oil pressure unit and more complex adjustable pressure control have been needed. Power choke coils to be used in power supply circuits to drive actuators (mortars, solenoids etc.) to control adjustable pressure have been required to be compact, larger current capacity as well as heat resistance and vibration resistance. To answer to the request from in-vehicle power-supply circuits, Industrial Devices Company, Panasonic Corporation has succeeded in developing new structure choke coils for Automotive with our original metal-composite materials, and will commence mass-production.
Power supply circuits used in Electronic power steerings, Electronic braking systems, idling stop systems etc.
