March 21, 2012 Osaka, Japan–Industrial Devices Company, Panasonic Corporation has succeeded in commercializing the high power & anti-surge chip resistor with 0805 size , suitable for protecting ECU used in vehicles and inverter circuits of a variety of units against ESD, and will start mass production.

With the increasing miniaturization of ECU and inverter circuits of a variety of units, chip resistors featuring excellent ESD properties with compact size and high power have been required for protecting against ESD. To answer the market needs, Industrial Devices Panasonic Corporation has succeeded in developing resistor-element with our original structure, materials, resistor-patterns, and commercializing the “high power & anti-surge chip resistor with 0805 size ”, featuring the highest rated power of 0.5 W in the industry (*1).
