HD Networking with SD Memory Card

The DMP-BD50 comes equipped with a slot for SD Memory Cards. Just take the SD Memory Card from your digital still camera or HD camcorder, and you're ready to view HD photos and motion images on your TV.

Linking with an HD Camcorder

The DMP-BD50 can play back AVCHD-format images shot with an HD camcorder, such as the Panasonic HDC-SD5. Images recorded onto the camcorder's SD Memory Card are output directly from the DMP-BD50's HDMI terminal in their original, high-quality 1920 x 1080 resolution. The DMP-BD50 also provides an AVCHD Direct Navigator function that makes it easy to search for particular scenes.

Compatible with "x.v.Colour"

The DMP-BD50 supports "x.v.Colour", which features a colour expression range that is about 1.2 times the conventional sRGB colour range. When connected to a TV that supports "x.v.Colour", the DMP-BD50 can render colours more naturally and with enhanced depth.

* This function is effective only when reproducing AVCHD data recorded with "x.v.Colour" technology. The function cannot be used with BD-ROM or DVD-ROM discs. HDMI connection is required.
* "x.v.Colour and x.v.Colour are trademarks.

Linking with a Digital Camera

The DMP-BD50 can play back JPEG still images on an SD Memory Card, such as those recorded with a Lumix DMC-FX55 digital camera. The DMP-BD50 can output the images to 1920 x 1080 resolution – ideal for a full-HD TV – and output them via the HDMI terminal.* Using the Slideshow playback feature, you can play a music CD at the same time you're showing the photos, so viewers enjoy both beautiful images and your favorite music.

*JPEG and other still image sources converted to 1920 x 1080 resolution, while of high quality,
will exhibit somewhat lower subjective image resolution than true, native 1080p full HD sources.

VIERA Link

You Can Control Your Blu-ray Disc™ Player with the TV Remote Control *1 2 (Seamless GUI)

When the TV is on, the VIERA Link function lets you switch to home theater mode using just the Panasonic Flat TV’s remote control unit. Simply press the VIERA Link button on the TV’s remote control and select "Player" on the VIERA Link Menu screen. The Blu-ray Disc™ player's menu will display on the TV screen, and you can begin playback of a Blu-ray disc or select from the Blu-ray disc menu.

One-Touch Home Theater Playback with Panasonic Flat TV’s Remote *1 3

Just press the "Play" button of the Panasonic Flat TV’s remote control and let the TV do the rest. All components turn on, the correct TV input is selected, the TV built-in speaker sound is muted, and the home theater starts playback. It all happens automatically and in an instant.

One-Touch Speaker Switching *3

If you call up the VIERA Link menu on-screen display and select "Home Cinema," the home cinema turns on and audio playback switches from the TV speakers to the home cinema speakers. If you turn off the receiver, the audio automatically switches back to the TV speakers.

One-Touch Volume Control *3

When the audio is being output from the home cinema, you can adjust the sound volume right on the Panasonic Flat TV’s remote control. As you operate the sound volume up or down, the home cinema's sound volume is automatically turned up or down accordingly.

*1 This function is available for 2007 home theater systems used with 2007 flat-panel TV models.
*2 A Panasonic Blu-ray disc™ player is required for this function.
*3 A Panasonic VIERA Link compatible home theater system is required for this function.
