For Support of OEM drive, basically, we recommend you to refer to the shop where you purchased it.

Regarding DVD-RAM 4.7GB Disc Read

The DVD-ROM drives can read a single side Disc (4.7GB /without cartridge) or single side Disc-TYPE2 (2.6GB / 4.7GB).
And they can also read the all UDF formatted DVD-RAM disc when taking it out of the cartridge.
If OS is Windows 2000, please install this driver (udfrdw2k.exe).
Regarding Windows XP, this driver is not needed to install as OS standard support. And VR format, this driver is not needed to install as DVD decode soft support this format.

These drives are capable of reading DVD-RAM Disc but some drive's firmware might be changed. They should have been mounted on a PC on the market and we recommend you to ask the PC maker or a shop where you purchased it.
But please note that if a firmware is not approved by the PC maker or OEM, they can not be changed.

Regarding DVD-RAM 2.6GB Disc Read

The DVD-ROM drives can read a single side Disc-TYPE2 (2.6GB).
And they can also read the all UDF formatted DVD-RAM disc when taking it out of the cartridge.
If OS is Windows 2000, please install this driver (udfrdw2k.exe).
Regarding Windows XP, this driver is not needed to install as OS standard support.

Regarding SR-8583, SR-8584, SR-8174
There are some drives which do not supprt DVD-RAM Disc reading.
In the rating label on the drive, you will see a 4-digit alphabet which follows the drive name. The drive which has the 4-digit alphabet can read a DVD-RAM Disc. When the last letter is number or a 3-digit alphabet, the drive can not read it even if you change the firmware.
