What's a PBX ?

Product Top

PBX = Private Branch eXchange

PBXs are used to make connections among the internal telephones of a private organisation, usually a business organisation, and to connect them to a public switched telephone network (PSTN).

Why is PBX necessary?

A PBX offers four main advantages, as shown below. In addition to reducing the cost of calls over external lines, it gives you versatile operator control, and allows extension calls and company networks.

Installation Advantages

1. Reduces communication expenses

Because there is no charge for extension calls, communication expenses are reduced.

2. Easy Communication between employees

Extension numbers are easy to remember and calling is easy.

3. The telephone can be controlled

The operator receives the main call and forwards it to employees.

4. Company network

Communication expenses are greatly reduced by connecting offices with private lines.

Basic connection of PBX between outside and inside lines

In addition to conventional analogue lines, both digital and IP lines can be connected, allowing use in extensions and networks containing analogue, digital, and IP phones.
