How do I make joip calls? |

- If you have a joip Registered Service (a cost is involved) you can call any landline or VoIP phone if you do not then you can make only joip to joip calls. To make a joip to joip call you must dial # and then dial the 10 digit number and press [IP]. To make other calls you dial the number and then press [IP].

Can I have a technical overview of how joip works?
|
|
- When you make calls with joip, a type of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)
service, your voice will be sent as data packets over the Internet to the
destination where they are converted into voice. Basically, you can make
Internet calls using the joip service virtually the same as using a landline,
but unlike other VoIP services, the setup is a lot simpler and a computer
isn't needed.

How do I get my joip number and password? |
|
- After the installation is complete, the phone is registered to the service
and your joip number is displayed on the handset. You also receive both
your joip number and password via text message sent to your handset. It
is recommended to save these messages as you will need them in order to
login to your joip account at www.joip.com.

Can I have 2 GLOBARANGE base units for one joip account? |
|
- We recommend installing only one Panasonic GLOBARANGE phone base unit. If you install more than one joip system with one account, you may not be able to make or receive Internet calls properly. However, each Panasonic GLOBARANGE base is capable of having 8 handsets. Additional handsets can be bought separately as accessories.

What kind of equipments are required in order to make joip calls? |
|
- You need a router with an open LAN port, and a broadband (DSL, Cable, Satellite) connection with a modem.

How do I know if the GLOBARANGE phone will work with my broadband service, network, router or modem? |
|
- Your network must meet the following technical specifications for the unit to work with joip:
(1) Broadband Internet connection such as DSL or cable
(2) Modem Broadband modem with Ethernet port (USB-only modems are not supported.)
(3) Broadband router*1*2
*1 This unit is not compatible with the following:
- PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet)
- PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol)
- L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol)
If your Internet service provider uses a PPPoE, PPTP, or L2TP connection, a compatible router is required.
*2 We recommend using a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server.

Can you connect the GLOBARANGE phone using a wireless router? |
|
- If you're using a wireless router, a wireless access point is needed.
The phone's ethernet cable will plug into it, and the wireless access point will then connect to the router. Panasonic also recommends using our HD-PLC technology which lets you send your broadband signals through your AC power wires. Please go to www.panasonic.com/netcam to learn more about HD-PLC.

Can you still use GLOBARANGE without plugging the phone into a landline? |
|
- Yes, but if you don't subscribe to one of joip's service plans you can
only make free calls to other joip users. If you choose not to plug your
phone to a landline we recommend subscribing to one of joip's service plans
which will allow you to call landline and cellular numbers for extremely
low rates; in most cases these rates are much lower then the regular landline
rates. To learn more about joip's service plans and special rates, please

How do you use it? |

I'm using two landlines. Can I simply switch them over? |
|
- This depends on your service conditions, but you can use one landline and one IP phone line, so you may not really need the second landline.

Can joip/GLOBARNGE work with my existing Internet and telephone service? |
|
- In order to use joip you just need a router or a Modem/Router and a Broadband
connection. if you have both a router and an Internet connection, you should
be able to use joip free service.

- Yes you can use the Internet and the landlines at the same time for different
calls. The 5.8Ghz GLOBARANGE phone supports up to 8 handsets. (US, Canada,
Mexico, Brazil, Australia).

Can I use joip anywhere in the world? |
|
- You can use joip anywhere in the world. Any user with a GLOBARANGE phone
will be able to use his joip service anywhere in the world even when away
from the GLOBARANGE phone through joip's SoftPhone or web-joip services.
Using the joip line, you can make and receive free calls to and from any
other joip number, creating a huge and free communication community.

Can I use the joip line to send faxes? |
|
- It is recommended that you use a landline for sending and receiving faxes.

How many handsets can be added? |
|
- The 5.8-GHz cordless can have up to eight handsets in all. (US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia)
- The DECT cordless can have up to six handsets in all.

Can you use a mobile phone line to make or receive calls? |
|
- You can't use a mobile phone line to make or receive GLOBARANGE calls , but when calling abroad from your mobile phone you can use the joip line by going through your home GLOBARANGE phone. This lets you make the call at very low cost.

Can I answer a second call on the other line when I am on a call. |
|
- Yes, you can put the first call on hold and answer the second call coming in. Each line can have its own ring tone. The handset LCD backlight changes as follows:
Green - Landline is used/ringing
Amber - IP Line is used/ringing

Does the answering machine have separate answering messages for each line? |
|
- Yes or you can use one message for both lines if you choose.

How do I connect my phone to the internet? |
|
- Connect the included Ethernet cable to the "LAN" port on the base unit and unused Ethernet (LAN) port on your router or modem with a built-in router.
- Connect the included telephone line cord until it clicks into the "TEL" port on the base unit and telephone line jack.
- Connect the included AC adaptor to the base unit by pushing the plug firmly, then plug the other end into the power outlet.
- Install the battery.
- Charge the battery.
- Agree to the joip Terms of use on the handset by pressing [IP] an then press [YES] to agree to it.
- Now the phone begins to connect to the internet and the status indicator will turn solid green.

Can landlines call my joip number? |
|
- No they must dial your Registered Service number that you were given when
you subscribed to joip. To view your Registered Service number press [MENU]
then [#][1][0][3] then move the joystick down and the number will be under
"Phone number1".
