Motivation for Installation

Design Company has a total of nine branches worldwide. They work closely to develop highly unified designs for numerous product groups, and to create designs that meet local needs. They previously used a conventional videoconference system, and while it allowed them to hold meetings, it didn't let them actually examine designs, for which you have to meticulously study shapes, colours and textures. Installation Effect

Installing the HD Visual Communications System made it possible to share information on the shapes and textures of prototype product designs, so details could be confirmed by distant staff members in real-time. In order to get a feel for the scale and overall impression, the design teams work with actual, physical objects at first, then use the videoconference system from the second meeting onward. Connecting the two remote worksites has especially helped to activate collaboration by confirming the design's finished, three-dimensional appearance and being able to check the materials in detail without having to travel back and forth. In the past, meetings could be held only after photos and illustrations had been sent and confirmed by each worksite, so it was impossible to avoid time differences. Using strictly 2D materials, it was also difficult to examine and confirm three-dimensional details from a variety of viewpoints. The HD Visual Communications System lets everyone confirm the design samples, which greatly reduces the time needed for detailed checks, and enables designers to conduct highly comprehensive and effective examination meetings.
