Generally speakihg ,SW174W is wireless LAN system ,the others are available by Network cable.

In WV-ASM100, if decoding fails when displaying the image, the failed part is shown in gray.

Possible cause of failed decoding is as follows:
(1) The PC cannot decode in time, due to insufficient performance.
(2) Packet loss is occurring in the LAN card of the PC.
(3) Packet loss is occurring in the network.

The cause can be analyzed in the following ways:

1. Check the CPU usage in the Task Manager of the PC. When CPU usage is near 100%, the likely cause is (1).
Note: When using a multi-core CPU (such as dual-core), even if the average usage is low, one of the individual CPUs might show high usage. If this is the case, the likely cause is also (1).
-> Replace the PC with the one that meets the recommended specifications, lower the resolution or frame rate of the H.264, or change H.264 to MPEG4/JPEG.

2. When a specific LAN card and operating conditions are used together, packet loss occurs at PC reception.
LAN card chip: Intel 82567LM-3
Operating conditions: Sequential operation with audio
If these conditions apply, the likely cause is (2).
Note: If this is the case, the gray image is shown after one or two seconds following a sequential image switching.
If the gray image is shown in the midst of displaying live image, this is not the cause.
-> Replace the LAN card.

3. Capture packets with packet capturing software (such as Wireshark) to check whether RTP packet loss is occurring or not.
If there is an RTP sequence error, the likely cause is (3).
-> Replace the network device with a high performance switch, or change the network design so the network uses less bandwidth.

(1) The UID specified in the keep alive CGI might be invalid. Check whether or not the keep alive command can be sent correctly using the obtained UID.

Sufficient power cannot be supplied from a PoE hub (conforming to IEEE802.3af) for the camera.

WV-SW396 and WV-SW395 need a power supply hub conforming to the PoE Plus standard (IEEE802.3at). In addition, twisted pair cables conforming to Category 5e or higher must be used.

WV-SW395/WV-SW396 does not operate with PoE(IEEE 802.3af) switch. This is because the heaters and fans do not operate. A conventional PoE HUB (IEEE 802.3af) supplies up to 15.4 W of power per port. Since WV-SW395 needs 24.0 W (WV-SW396 needs 25.0 W), it cannot be operated on a conventional PoE HUB. When the CCTV 24V adapter is not used, the HUB must support the newer standard, "PoE+ HUB" (IEEE 802.3at), that supplies up to 30 W of power per port.

The CGI commands for WV-SC385 follow those for WV-NS202A, so the commands can generally be used.

(1) The following ports are already used: 20, 21, 23, 25, 42, 53, 67, 68, 69, 110, 123, 161, 162, 554, 995, 10669, 10670, and 59000 to 61000.
(2) Ports 59000 to 61000 are used by image and audio transmission (RTP). Among the settings of the camera, there is an item, "Unicast (Port Number Setting: Auto)". When this setting is used, the used port is selected from the above range.

The supported ratios are 1.0x, 1.1x, 1.2x...2.0x. That adds up to 11 ratios in steps of 0.1x.

Image display in JPEG 1 fps when multi-screen is configured on browser is according to specifications. To display camera images from more than one camera while retaining frame rates, use WV- cameras and ASM100.

In case of condensation, the device may fail due to a short-circuit. Use the device in a non-condensing environment.

The failures mentioned do not happen immediately. However, the lifetime of the device will decrease in that environment.

This might be caused by antivirus software or enabled Windows Firewall. Try to disable the software/configuration.

Tip: If you try to capture the received data with packet capturing software (such as Wireshark), and this software shows that the image is not displayed even though the packets are arriving at the PC, it is likely that antivirus software or Windows Firewall is causing the problem.

The MPEG-4 multicast environment also supports audio recording.

Tip: The relationships between streaming/compression methods and sound functions are as follows.
(1) JPEG only (unicast) -> Supports two-way audio
(2) MPEG only (unicast) -> Supports two-way audio
(3) MPEG only (multicast) -> Only listening (supports audio streaming from camera to PC/recorder only)
(4) JPEG+MPEG (JPEG unicast, MPEG multicast) -> JPEG supports two-way audio. MPEG supports only listening.

Outdoor devices are always affected by the natural environment.
They generally suffer from faster product degradation, including fittings and cables. Degradation not only leads to shorter product lifetime, but also increases the risk of accidents, including falloff or rollover of the device (caused by degradation or damage to the main unit, fittings, or screws) and electric shock or burst (caused by degradation of electric circuits and cables).


- Observe high and low limits of temperature and humidity. Do not install the device at a location with temperature and humidity conditions not supported by the product. It is particularly important to prevent product failure due to condensation and other ambient conditions.
- Do not install the device in a location exposed to gases.
- Do not install the device in an unstable location.
- Ensure installation strength.
-- Do not mount on a wall or a ceiling with insufficient installation strength.
-- In case installation strength cannot be ensured, always perform reinforcement to ensure sufficient strength.
- Basically, perform a fail-safe installation.
- Remove the product after use to prevent a fall. Do not leave it unattended.
- Besides the above points, do not perform installation without observing "Safety Precautions" or "Notes to Users" detailed in the Operating Instructions or Installation Guide that comes with each product.
- Ensure to protect the device from rollover or slipoff, taking natural environmental conditions (wind, rain, snow, etc.) into consideration.
- When installing on a metal roof, ensure the device is properly insulated.
* In addition, follow the same insulation precautions also when mounting steel wires or similar material to prevent rollover.
- Do not install a product not suited to the installation conditions outdoors.
- Perform maintenance checks to prevent occurrence of and fix unsafe parts. (Emphasize importance of maintenance checks to users)

It is not possible to use AC adapter and PoE power supply together as a means of power supply redundancy. When both AC adapter and PoE power supply are connected at the same time, the supply with the higher voltage takes priority and PoE power supply is used. If PoE power supply fails, AC power supply does take over. However, failure of PoE power supply means that there is an abnormality in a network device or a cable, and camera data cannot be sent out via the network. Therefore, using AC and PoE supply at the same time cannot be regarded as a means of ensuring power supply redundancy.

A behavior called "flooding" will occur. In particular, image data will be streamed to every port it is connected (multicast) to. This will not be a critical issue when few cameras are connected to the switch. However, when more cameras are connected, a huge amount of data will arrive at the cameras. This might prevent the cameras from receiving requests they should accept.

FTP transmission of an image using modification to the preset configuration as a trigger is not supported.
