Use this product at temperatures between 5 °C to 45 °C {41 °F to 113 °F} and where the humidity is between 5 % to 90 %.
The input power source for the NTSC model is 120 V AC 60Hz, and for the PAL model is 220 V to 240 V AC 50Hz. Performance and lifetime of hard disk drives are easily affected by heat (used at high temperature).

Check the IP address settings and PC security settings. As for the PC security settings, change the settings of Windows Firewall, pop-up blocking, and antivirus software, and set the security of Internet Explorer to Low.
In addition, if the version of the recorder software is 1.04 or earlier, please update the software.

Disable pop-up blocking and reenter the IP address.

The recording conditions for the registered faces might not have been good.
- Select the faces facing the front and eyes not closed, and re-register.
- Use Auto Select to select the most appropriate face.
- Refer to the Installation Guide to reconsider installation conditions.

Generally, it takes around 30 seconds.
However, depending on the scene, it might take up to approximately 2 minutes.

When face matching alarm is enabled, the dedicated live monitor will stop sequential display and outputs only the image of the smallest channel number from the target channels.

- Matching precision decreases when faces are overly covered (by hats, masks, or sunglasses) or the angle is too large.

- Install the camera(s) at appropriate location(s) to cover customer traffic.

Outside light conditions or personal characteristics might have changed. Re-register more recent images.

- Changes regarding outside light conditions: There has been a change in season, lighting, etc.

- Changes regarding personal characteristics: A target person has grown a beard, changed his/her glasses, etc.

By using the mask area setting (see WJ-NV200 Installation Guide), it will be possible to mitigate the effect of image variation.

It is difficult to maintain a consistent condition for faces when used outdoors. Therefore, using this system outdoors is not recommended.

If the illuminated condition of the face matching area is not consistent due to variations in outside light, the precision of face matching might be decreased. Adjust the illuminated condition so the entrance set as the target for face matching will be under a consistent illuminated condition.

Please check the following before operation.
(1) In the window for setting up the matching area, check that the frame for faces of pre-registered persons is displayed inside the face matching setup area.
(2) After the setting menu is closed, press the Start face matching button, and check that the alarm is triggered.

- When the face frame is not displayed in (1):
- Go on the setup menu > "REC & event" > "Event setup" > "Advanced face matching alarm setup", and check that the operation mode is set to "Alarm action".
- The camera setting might be out of the recommended range. Please check the camera setup to "Compression : H.264", "Image capture size : 1280×960", Frame rate : 5 fps", "Max bit rate (per client) : 4096 kbps (as indication)", "Refresh interval : 5 s", "Super Dynamic (SD) : Off", "Adaptive black stretch : Off", "Back light compensation (BLC) : Off", "Shutter speed (Light control mode) : 1/100 fix", "AGC : On(High)", "Black & white mode : Off", "DNR : Low", "Face detection : On".

- When the alarm is not triggered in (2):
- Go to "REC & event" > "Event setup" > "Advanced face matching alarm setup", and check that the operation mode is set to "Alarm action".
- In the "Registration list (Matching)" of registered face matching targets, check that the matching operation is set to "On".

Variation in illumination might lead to decreased precision in face matching. Move the advertisement to another location or use the mask area setting for backlight control to specify the area in which illuminated variation will not occur.

First, decide on the installation location of the camera. (If the camera is too near to customers, it might be oppressive to them. If the camera is too far, advertisements and showcases might cause obstruction. ) Then adjust the zoom factor of the lens so the width of the video corresponds to 2.5 m at the best recording position.

Face matching utilizes information extracted by cameras, and matches the information with the target face information that is registered to the recorder in advance.

Yes. Mail notification can be configured on the Setup menu: click "Alarm" tab then set "Video loss" to ON, and click "Notification" tab then set "Mail Notification" to ON. You will be notified when video loss occurs and when video loss is recovered.

This is because the compression method is different. One-shot images are JPEG images.

There is no easy way available to extract only map information (including information of cameras registered to a map). As an alternative, if you want to use consistent map layout (or similar settings) in all the PCs, you can save the main configuration data, deploy the data to other PCs (load the data into the PCs), and perform configuration specific to each PC except map information.

There is no way to reset all alarms at once. Therefore, if alarms occur at more than one place, each camera icon on display map must be clicked, one at a time.

WV-ASM100 supports Windows 7. One possible cause is that if the login user name contains one or more 2-byte characters, a run time error is displayed. Install the software in an environment with a user name that contains only 1-byte characters.

When accessed via Remote Desktop to the software that is protected by a HASP key, there is a limitation regarding operation of more than one account. Even if you were able to perform some operation, WV-ASM100 uses DirectShow for image rendering, and therefore you will not be able to view the image remotely.

This might be because alarms (for face matching, etc.) are not triggered and the device has entered the power-save mode. Try moving the mouse and see if the monitor becomes bright again.

In WV-ASM100, if decoding fails when displaying the image, the failed part is shown in gray.

Possible cause of failed decoding is as follows:
(1) The PC cannot decode in time, due to insufficient performance.
(2) Packet loss is occurring in the LAN card of the PC.
(3) Packet loss is occurring in the network.

The cause can be analyzed in the following ways:

1. Check the CPU usage in the Task Manager of the PC. When CPU usage is near 100%, the likely cause is (1).
Note: When using a multi-core CPU (such as dual-core), even if the average usage is low, one of the individual CPUs might show high usage. If this is the case, the likely cause is also (1).
-> Replace the PC with the one that meets the recommended specifications, lower the resolution or frame rate of the H.264, or change H.264 to MPEG4/JPEG.

2. When a specific LAN card and operating conditions are used together, packet loss occurs at PC reception.
LAN card chip: Intel 82567LM-3
Operating conditions: Sequential operation with audio
If these conditions apply, the likely cause is (2).
Note: If this is the case, the gray image is shown after one or two seconds following a sequential image switching.
If the gray image is shown in the midst of displaying live image, this is not the cause.
-> Replace the LAN card.

3. Capture packets with packet capturing software (such as Wireshark) to check whether RTP packet loss is occurring or not.
If there is an RTP sequence error, the likely cause is (3).
-> Replace the network device with a high performance switch, or change the network design so the network uses less bandwidth.
