No.1 WV-ASM10 restarts when displaying image. [WV-ASM10] [ [Software] ] (2011/7/4)
- Answer1
-
(1) If a service has not been stopped when the previous version is uninstalled, the old DLL might still remain and cause a restart when displaying image. (This occurs mainly on Windows Vista.)
-> This can be fixed by deleting the ASM folder completely and performing reinstallation.
(2) If the login user account for Windows contains 2-byte characters, installation of SQL Server and/or Visual C++ DLLs might fail and cause a restart when displaying image. (This occurs both on Windows XP and Windows Vista.)
-> This can be avoided by creating a Windows log-in user that does not contain a 2-byte code, and running WV-ASM10 with that user account.
No.2 When using 6-screen display in WV-ASM10, the size of the actually displayed image is the same as 9-screen display. Is it possible to display each screen larger and make the blank area (areas that are displayed in black and not used to display image) smaller? [WV-ASM10] [ [Software] ] (2011/7/4)
- Answer2
-
The camera image is displayed in 4:3 regardless of the screen resolution. Therefore, the phenomenon in question cannot be avoided when used with aspect ratio 4:3. If the aspect ratio is changed to 16:9, the bottom blank area (area displayed in black) will be smaller.
However, when 4-frame display is used, the right side of the screen will be the blank area (areas that are displayed in black and not used to display image).
No.3 When receiving multicast video, it seems that WV-ASM100 cannot identify streams with only DST ports. Is it necessary to change the multicast address as well? [WV-ASM100] [ [Software] ] (2011/7/4)
- Answer3
-
No, it is not necessary. Streams can be identified as long as the combination of multicast IPA and the port is unique. However, to maintain the uniqueness, the network switch must be configured to conform to IGMP Version 3. Therefore, it is common to change the multicast address.

No.6 Installation fails. [WV-ASM100] [ [Software] ] (2011/7/4)
- Answer6
-
When a user account that contains one or more 2-byte characters is used, installation fails. This is because the Visual C++ Runtime Library used in WV-ASM100 cannot be installed.
* If you still have a requirement to install WV-ASM100 under an environment that contains a 2-byte character in the user account:
(1) Create a new user using only 1-byte characters.
(2) Log in with this new account and install the Visual C++ Runtime Library.
(3) Log in with the existing account (with a 2-byte character), and install WV-ASM100. This way, Visual C++ error still occurs, but installation can be completed.

No.14 When more than one alarm occurs at the same time, will cameras that are registered on more than one floor be also displayed in red? [WV-ASM100] [ [Software] ] (2011/7/4)
- Answer14
-
Since alarm status cannot be retained, all cameras except the ones on the displayed map are displayed as normal icons. * When the displayed map is changed manually from one that contains a camera icon in an alarm status to another map, and then changed back to the original map, the relevant camera will be displayed with the normal icon.

-
Depending on the setting of "Auto change of map", red icons will be displayed differently as follows:
- When "Auto change of map" is ON

- When "Auto change of map" is OFF
-> When an alarm is received from the camera currently registered on the map displayed on the map monitor, the relevant camera icon will blink and is then displayed in red.
