Events and Activities
Summer Seminar
Summer Seminar was organized for two nights and three days from July 9 to 11, 2008. This seminar allows all the scholars to meet together once a year and to gain different opportunities which they can't experience from their daily works at laboratory. In addition, the seminar promotes the friendship among the scholars, regardless countries and ages. This year's summer seminar was attended by 63 scholars enrolled at 15 universities in Japan and the staff members of Panasonic Scholarship's overseas offices.
Kiso Arts & Crafts
PS Scholars visited "Kiso Arts & Crafts" and observed lacquer crafts which are not familiar among foreign students. They watched the video on the manufacturing process of lacquer crafts and learned the experiences of a professional lacquer artist. Then, the scholars worked on producing lacquer crafts, instructed by the artist.

Sports Festival
PS Scholars enjoyed "Sports Festival" which was the first planning for Panasonic Scholarship. The prepared sports games are all familiar for Japan people, but the games seemed to have been the first experiences for many of the scholars.

Asian Festival for multicultural communication
"Asian Festival" is the most popular program of Summer Seminar among the scholars. We organized the "Asian Festival" wherein all scholars were divided into eight teams and presented their respective production numbers through singing, dancing and drama. Team Philippines won the first prize with a fantastic performance, "A Glimpse of Filipino Highlanders." It is the third time for Team Philippines to win the first prize, following the previous two years!
