In the congratulatory address of President Mr. Ohtsubo, he celebrated the scholars' achievements of master's degrees and hoped for their future success based on the following two respects:
- 1) Globalization
- Because of the limited space in the globe, there is a growing trend that countries and people specialize in their own strengths or advantages and such specialization of labor will be promoted in the global scale. Emphasizing that the globalized specialization will probably accelerate in the coming years, President Mr. Ohtsubo hopes that the scholars will keep aware of this trend and demonstrate their own abilities in the next positions.
- 2) Environmental and Ecological Efforts
- Today's environmental problems are mostly caused by technological developments, however; it is also the technology that will solve these problems. The scholars utilizing the technological skills and knowledge obtained through the research activities in Japan, President Mr. Otsubo hopes that they will contribute to solving such problems for countries, areas and the entire globe.

Study at Matsushita Memorial Library
Ahead of Achievement Ceremony and Presentation, on March 4, Panasonic Scholars visited Matsushita Memorial Library. The Matsushita Memorial Library was established in 1994 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Panasonic Corporation and the PHP Institute. This library plays a role as the center to exhibit a wide range of Konosuke Matsushita's thoughts that give deep insight into his life, way of thinking, his management philosophy and his ideas. The library was the suitable facility for the scholars who are going to become Asian leaders in the future. The library tour and the following question-and-answer session by Director, Mr. Kawagoe became good opportunities for the scholars to study fundamental policies of business and research activities and to know what's of significance in their future life.

The scholars are studying Konosuke Matsushita's philosophies from Mr. Taguchi, President of Panasonic Scholarship.
