PMM Opens Region's First Eco Friendly Customer Care Center

Panasonic Marketing Middle East FZE (PMM) in association with Techserve, part of the Al-Futtaim group, Panasonic's sole agent in UAE, opened the eco Customer Care Center in a showroom in Dubai, UAE. An opening ceremony was held on April 20, 2011, two days before the ‘Earth Day’ designated by the United Nations.

The eco Customer Care Center is part of Panasonic's aim to become the No. 1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry in the Middle East in line with the regional Eco Ideas Declaration announced in October 2010 by PMM. The Center is the region's first green concept Customer Care Center to promote ‘eco’ through operations including after-sales services and sale of accessories.
The Center uses Panasonic's eco-conscious products such as air conditioners equipped with ECO NAVI and LED lighting powered by solar power generation. In addition, equipment and interior decoration in consideration of the environment are adopted, which can be seen in parts of the inner walls using empty bottles and coirfiber (fiber made from coconut husk) or floor tiles using terracotta. Furthermore, the Center will practice paperless operation by introducing rewrite card printers that allow erasing and printing.

The launch of the eco Customer Care Center was attended by PMM Managing Director Seiji Koyanagi and Mr. Vishesh L Bhatia, President, New Strategic Growth Group, Al-Futtaim Group. Senior executives from Techserve and other guests also attended the inauguration of the Customer Care Center. A ribbon cutting ceremony followed by signing of an inaugural plaque by the two top management members marked the official opening of the facility. With this, various means of promotion were carried out energetically through advertisements in UAE's leading newspaper and the PMM official website.

PMM places the launch of the eco Customer Care Center the first step to implementing the regional Eco Ideas Declaration and will continue to enhance the environmental awareness of customers.
