1. Windows XP Service Pack 2

Q:

When installing Windows XP Service Pack 2, following problems occur.

[Status Display]
Although Status Display Type is set to Event in Status Display, the Status Display window is not displayed if a printer error has occurred when printing a document.
Although Notify Remote Print is set to Enable in Status Display, Notify Remote Print window is not displayed when printing is complete.

[HDD Utility]
Spooled jobs are not displayed in the HDD Spooler window.

A:

These problems will be solved by Windows Firewall Setting Tool, if you set the permission to Windows Firewall in Windows XP with our Windows Firewall Setting Tool.

2. Network

Q:

I installed Web Administrative tool in Windows Server 2003, but it does not work. How can I do for it?

A:

As IIS security setting is added to Windows Server 2003, CGI application cannot run on this server with default settings. The Web Administrative Tool is one of the CGI applications. For the detailed information of CGI, refer to the help menu in Windows.

You need to change the IIS security settings on Windows Server 2003.
Perform the following steps to change the IIS security settings on Windows Server 2003.

  1. Click [Start], move the pointer to [Administrative Tools], then click [Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager].The "Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager" window is displayed.
  2. Click "Web Service Extensions" in the left pane of the window and click "All Unknown CGI Extensions" in the right pane.
  3. Click [Allow].
    The message box is displayed.
  4. Click [Yes]
