Question 1

No wireless connection can be made between my display and my computer.

Answer

  • Has the software been started up?
This software must be started in the computer in order to enable wireless transmissions of images to the display.
  • Have the correct network settings been established?
When selecting a display whose network number is [USER1], [USER2], [USER3] or [M-DIRECT], check whether the correct network settings have been established for the display and for the computer.
  • Click of the software (launcher), and click [Messages].
Details of the actions to be taken are displayed so follow the instructions given.

Question 2

When computer has no administrator privileges.

Answer

If the computer has been logged on using an account without administrator privileges or using a guest account, it is not possible to select a display using the method described in "Using the [S-DIRECT], [S-MAP], [1], [2], [3] and [4] settings to select the displays".
(See page 22 of the Operating Instructions.)
If it is necessary to connect using a wireless LAN, select a display using the [USER1], [USER2], [USER3] or [M-DIRECT] network number.

Question 3

When the "Cannot find LAN adaptor" error is displayed.

Answer

  • Is the wireless LAN adaptor effective?
If the wireless LAN adaptor is disabled, enable it.
For some PCs with an internal wireless LAN, the hardware switch or the software setting might have turned off the wireless LAN.
If it is turned "OFF", turn it "ON" before starting this software.
(In the case of a computer which also uses Bluetooth, Bluetooth may take priority so switch the priority to wireless LAN.)
Refer to the operation manual of your PC for information about switching on/off.
  • Is your wireless LAN adaptor properly recognized on the network?
Sometimes, wireless LAN adaptors are not correctly recognized by the computer.
Check in [Device Manager] whether the adaptor is recognized correctly.
If the Network Adaptor is indicated with [?] in [Device Manager], wireless LAN adaptor installation is not complete.
See the User's Manual of your wireless LAN adaptor and re-install the driver.

If it is still not possible to communicate with the display, turn off the power of the display, wait until the display has cooled down (until the main unit's power monitor changes from orange to red), and then turn off the main unit's main power switch if it has one.
If it does not have one, disconnect the power cable.
Turn the power back on, and then select the display again from the software.

Question 10

Communication is cut off in the multi live mode.

Answer

When communicating with the display using a computer equipped with the Intel Centrino mobile technology (wireless LAN), the multi live mode gets released depending on the adaptor version.

Question 11

Making a wireless LAN connection while using the internet.

Answer

  • In a wireless LAN environment which enables connection to the internet, it may be possible both to connect to the internet and use the wireless LAN communication with the display by incorporating the display in the wireless LAN environment.
  • if you have a wired internet connection, this display allows wireless use simultaneously with a wired connection to the internet.

How to browse the web and connect to a wireless display simultaneously

If one of the following conditions is met, then it is possible to browse the web and connect to the display simultaneously.

  1. The devices are connected through an access point (Infrastructure mode) that has access to the World Wide Web.
  2. The mobile device and the display are connected directly via Wi-Fi and the mobile device has two Network Interface Cards (NIC), where one of the NIC has access to the World Wide Web (e.g. iPhone has cellular coverage + WiFi coverage).

Question 12

The connection cannot be established with IEEE802.11g / IEEE802.11n.

Answer

  • In environments with wireless LAN adaptors that support both IEEE802.11b and IEEE802.11g, the connection may be established via IEEE802.11b.
  • In some operating environments, the connection may be established via IEEE802.11b, depending on the location, radio signal conditions, distance, or other factors.
  • Some wireless LAN adaptors only support AD HOC connections via IEEE802.11b.
  • IEEE802.11n can be used only when the [S-DIRECT], [M-DIRECT], wireless module (Part No.: ET-WM200) and infrastructure connection (with access point for 802.11n) are used.
The [S-DIRECT], [M-DIRECT] and wireless module can be used on only certain models of displays.

Question 13

Image display is slow or animation is not displayed smoothly.

Answer

  • Is the computer CPU speed slow?
Displaying images and playing animations depend to a large extent on the performance of the computer's CPU.
  • Adverse effects may be exerted if there is any wireless communication in the vicinity.
  • If [Option] on the launcher → [Settings] → "display at high picture quality (affects performance)" is selected, the screen display speed may become slower.
  • The speed may be slower when any other applications are running concurrently.
  • Did you start up Microsoft PowerPoint or Windows Media Player before starting up this software?
If so, start up the application only after you have started up this software.
  • If the software has been started up using an account without administrator privileges, the speed may decrease significantly.
  • Display may be slow when moving images are played.

Question 14

Contents of DVD, MPEG2 or Blu-ray Disc cannot be played on computer.

Answer

  • The following restrictions apply when the software is running.
  • DVD, MPEG2 and Blu-ray disc moving images cannot be played.
  • If a 3D type of application is used, problems may arise. For instance, the performance of the application may be reduced or images may not be displayed.
  • Exit the software, and try using the software with a computer cable or HDMI cable connected.
(Depending on the player used to play the moving images, it may not be possible to play them.)

Question 15

There is a time lag between operations at the computer and results in the displayed image.

Answer

This software reads the screen, compresses the data and transmits it to the display. In the display, the received data are extracted and then displayed. Some delays occur in this system, due to the processing time and factors in the wireless environment. Different computers may also produce varying lag times.

Question 16
