SHITATARU
drop
Experience : Movement, Sound
Source : Rain drop, Sunlight
Rain is a familiar part of Japanese life. It is said that there are more than 400 words for rain in Japan, and the culture finds abundance in the rain.
In this installation, visitors can watch water that looks like raindrops hit a transparent tarp and flow down. You suddenly notice that the raindrops have a variety of expressions.
Through the sound of raindrops touching the tarp, the smooth movement of water droplets, and changes in the light passing over the surface of the water, visitors may recover a rich sensitivity to rain, which is fading in the modern age.
