Nature is constantly changing and transforming itself. Like flowers blooming and then falling, Japanese people have always felt beauty in things that change and fade away fleeting­ly.
Inspired by the Japanese culture of "borrowed scenery" and "scenic beauty," I created a device that captures a part of natural phenomena.
Leaves float on a sounding basin of water, and stones are submerged. Or, a mirror at the bottom of the water reflects the sky and clouds. As the landscape created by nature changes with the wind and time, the tones played by the water basin also change.
As you watch and listen to nature's transitions, you will realize how many variables there are in nature.
