Panasonic Smart Life Solutions 2022

Smart Life Solutions for Sustainable Society

Responding to the drastic changes in people’s lifestyles and work styles, Panasonic is working to make spaces that are more comfortable and more secure, as well as safer, with electrical equipment, which has become a foundational part of our modern lives.

In July 2022, we held a B2B business expo in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We have a more than 70-year history with Vietnam, having had operations there since 1950. Under the theme of “Smart Life Solutions for Sustainable Society,” we have introduced Smart Life Solutions with electrical equipment and digital technology in six zones: Residential, Office, Electrical Construction Materials (ECM), Factory/Warehouse, Commercial, and Outdoor.

Residential Zone

In the Residential Zone, we have created “comfortable, human- and environment-friendly living spaces” utilizing IoT home equipment and advanced technology.

Panasonic’s Home IoT system lets people control air conditioning and lighting as well as the opening and closing curtains using their smartphones by linking them to smart appliances and home furnishings. We are creating new ways to have a more comfortable life by using Home IoT as a hub to link and control various devices.

We have also introduced advanced air quality solutions, such as the Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV), which efficiently exchanges indoor and outdoor air for comfort and to save energy, and air-e, which uses nanoe™ technology to control airborne viruses and remove harmful substances, such as PM2.5, from the air.

Electrical Construction Materials (ECM) Zone

In the ECM Zone, an entire wall is devoted to displaying Panasonic products. The product lineup includes a wide variety of electrical fixtures, such as switches and outlets, lighting fixtures, distribution panels, and air purifiers. Panasonic supports the creation of comfortable spaces in residential and non-residential buildings with a variety of electrical equipment.

Office Zone

In the Office Zone, we introduced the idea of lighting zones for the working environment to support the “new normal.” Activity Based Lighting focuses on three kinds of activity: Co-Creation/Refresh/Focus and provides an efficiently and creatively lit space for these activities by appropriately combining the use of lighting. We are creating office spaces where people can work productively and realize their potential, even as work styles and values continue to change and evolve.

Factory/Warehouse Zone

Factories and warehouses consume large amounts of electricity. In the Factory/Warehouse Zone, high-ceiling lighting and wireless dimming technology were exhibited in our pursuit of energy conservation and workability.

High-ceiling lighting fixtures are suitable for spaces with ceiling heights of eight meters or more, such as large domes, factories, and warehouses. These fixtures can reduce power consumption by around 70% (compared to conventional multi-halogen lighting) while maintaining almost the same level of brightness.

We offer energy-saving and compact fixtures for a wide variety of sites with functions suited to various environments and applications, such as LED base lights that do not emit UV light for use in clean rooms in food processing and chemical plants.

Commercial Zone

The focus of the Commercial Zone was flexible spatial solutions. Shopping experiences have changed dramatically, and stores are expected to change accordingly, such as preventing congestion in stores and providing value to customers that makes people want to go out of their way to visit. Duct rails make it possible for lights to be quickly re-positioned to suit new applications, and adjustable spotlights can quickly change the distribution of lighting. Together, these facilitate flexible rearrangement of retail spaces to adapt to changing needs and trends.

Outdoor Zone

In the Outdoor Zone, Panasonic’s special outdoor lighting products were shown, including smart road lamps, which achieve significant energy savings through the visualization of energy use and optimal control, and stadium lighting fixtures that can brightly illuminate sporting events. These products contribute to the creation of sustainable and prosperous environments while reducing CO2 emissions through improved energy management.
