Traditional beauty solemnly standing out against the background.

A gentle Japanese light with beautiful shades of red reproducing traditional Japanese beauty.
Senso-ji is the oldest temple in Tokyo located in Taito Ward. Each year approximately 30 million people visit this place, which is also called Asakusa Kannon, after its principal object of worship, the Buddhist deity of mercy Guanyin (Kannon in Japanese). As a famed sightseeing spot in the international city of Tokyo, it attracts many tourists from other countries. The tower of Senso-ji Temple was first built in 942.
Through successive collapses and fires, it has always been rebuilt. In 1648 Tokugawa Iemitsu reconstructed the five-storied pagoda. Since then it has been a landmark of Edo (old Tokyo) and Asakusa. The current five-storied pagoda was reconstructed in 1973 from a steel frame and reinforced concrete, standing 48 meters tall. The passing of over 40 years since then necessitated repairs to its exterior.
The night illumination was started in 2003, to mark the 400th anniversary of the founding of Edo (Tokyo), for the main hall, the five-storied pagoda, the Hozomon Gate, and the Kaminarimon Gate. The illumination fixture was also remodeled as part of this repair work. The new illumination employs the Dynashooter color tuning model that creates light which is free of uneven colors through our original LED optical design. To reproduce the exquisite shades of red and traditional Japanese concepts, careful consideration was given to not just the color temperature but also the arrangement of the LEDs was carefully considered from the viewer's point of view.
The temple stood brilliantly once again after the repairs were completed in late 2017. The new lights appear as the sunsets, bringing vibrant illumination with shades of red vividly lighting-up the five-storied pagoda. The moment the lights come on the transformation of scenes from the daytime to nighttime creates a mystical scene for visitors within the temple grounds. In this instant, the traditional beauty of Japan was complemented by modern LED technology linking it to future generations.
