Cloaked in lighting inducing a sense of wonder.
Spatial design for lighting welcoming visitors with the same sense of elation as the observation deck.
TOKYO SKYTREE was completed in 2012 as the world's tallest radio tower, becoming a new landmark of Tokyo visited by large numbers of people every day. A major remodeling of the fifth floor (the exit floor) reached by elevator from the observation deck was carried out in its sixth year since its opening.
In this area that all visitors must pass through, a new transition tunnel was built to continue the sense of wonder and elation from the observation deck. The LEDs installed on the windows create colorful lighting in motion that gives a sense of anticipation for THE SKYTREE SHOP that lies beyond it. The ceiling of the shop was also substantially remade to make it even easier to enter, to see what is available, and to make purchases in the shop. The lighting from the LEDs connecting to the transition tunnel helps to create a space full of excitement and happiness.
Visitors to TOKYO SKYTREE will now be bathed in brilliant colors from the newly installed LEDs in the windows together with the exterior lighting.
