The Yurikamome line is recommended for access to the waterfront area encompassing the Tokyo area from Toyosu to Odaiba.The Yurikamome transit cars use computer-controlled automated operation, which passes over the Rainbow Bridge to link Shimbashi to Toyosu. Yurikamome Shimbashi Station, as the first station on the Tokyo Waterfront New Transit Rinkai Line, is used by approximately 35,000 people a day.
During remodeling of the station, LED full color floodlights and Archiline were adopted for the stairs of above-ground floors and platforms, allowing for special occasion illumination events. The station buildings now give a sense of novelty and familiarity as the entrance to this constantly changing city and route which is used by tourists from abroad.
