Making Kyoto Tower even more beautiful and environmentally friendly. The lighting pattern uses a variety of colors in harmony with the history of this ancient capital and the local region.

Kyoto Tower is known worldwide as a landmark standing at the entrance to the ancient capital of Kyoto. After having watched over visitors and citizens of Kyoto for half a century since its opening in 1964, the tower's lighting system was remodeled. The existing HID lighting (50 units) was changed to a system with 20 LED color Dynapainter Floodlights, This allows the creation of full color lighting with variegated patterns, enabling illumination that matches concepts for cultural activities and events.

The illumination display features powerful light with a total luminous flux of over 10,000 lumens through our original light distribution and heat dissipation design, while saving approximately 74% of energy compared to the previous light fixtures.*1 This beautiful lighting design so evocative of the future will combine with harmony for the surrounding region and advanced lighting displays conscious of global environmental conservation to allow Kyoto Tower to continue to light up and overlook the city's night.

*1. This is a comparison to the previous 50 HID light fixtures that were installed which was a total of 39.21 kW. The total wattage for the 20 Dynapainters is only 10.20 kW.
