Future Life Based on "Instinctive Pleasantness" June 21st - 30th, 2024
11:00 - 19:00
Gentle to people and their lives, making things more "convenient."
Panasonic has always stayed close to people and their lifestyles.
However, while products and technology create convenience, we feel that some things may have been overlooked or lost.
For example, imagination, ingenuity, and mental leeway.
It's not about the comfort that is given, but the comfort that one feels personally.
What can products and technology do for the unique experiences of individuals that
standardized convenience cannot fully satisfy?
In this exhibition, FUTURE LIFE FACTORY presents prototypes inspired by "instinctive pleasantness," proposing new possibilities for design in future living and exploring the relationship between people and technology.
Ununiformity
Ununiformity, Shade
Powered by shape memory alloy, it moves quietly and slowly creates shade in response to the sun's heat. The lack of reproducibility and unevenness generates pleasantness.
Presence
Movement, Attachment
The irregular movement, deformation, and reflection of light by water droplets give a sense of life-like intent to controlled movements. Unpredictable motions create a sense of attachment and generate pleasantness.
Intimation
Indication, Indistinctness
The presence of light created by the lens facilitates gentle communication. It blends into daily life, connecting people and spaces. It generates pleasantness through tranquility and ambiguity.
Transition
Transition, Immersion
Floating on the water, it captures the fluctuations caused by the wind in the reflected scenery and produces sound. We sense delicate oscillations. The continuous change and immersion generate pleasantness.
Continuity
Continuity, Sway
The regular, controlled movement generated by the motor combined with the flexibility of the materials creates a fluctuating rhythm. This continuous motion, akin to the sway of nature, generates pleasantness.
