348 USB Chargers Installed in All 116 Rooms of 4-Star Hotel in Thailand

Panasonic has delivered 348 1-port USB Chargers in all 116 rooms in the two buildings of Amanta Hotel & Residence Ratchada, a 4-star hotel in Thailand. The hotel is in Bangkok’s Ratchadaphisek district, conveniently located for sightseeing and shopping in the city. With the concept of “the resort in the city,” the hotel has been used by many international and business travelers since its opening in 2007. As more than 15 years have passed since then, renovation of the facilities began in 2021 as a countermeasure against the aging of the building. To meet the needs of business people and international travelers, and considering people's current lifestyles where smartphones and tablets are indispensable, the hotel decided to install USB chargers in guest rooms and chose Panasonic USB chargers.

Three USB chargers have been installed in each room where smartphones are often used such as by the bed or under the television set to give enough space and enough chargers for guests, solving the most commonly cited inconveniences of “lack of space for charging” and “difficult in use.”

Charging Without an Adapter

You have several devices you need to charge, but you can only charge one at a time because the large charging adapter is covering multiple electrical outlets. This frustrating scene happens often in hotel rooms. In the renovated Amanta Hotel, without using any adapters, you can charge your devices directly from USB charging ports that are integrated into the electrical outlet panels. As USB is a universal international standard, hotel guests from overseas can use the outlet without a transformer or adaptor, without worrying about differences in voltage or different outlet shapes and configurations. It has become popular to introduce these USB charging ports, which are integrated with standard power outlets, in airports, cafes, offices, and other places that cater to many international travelers.

Panasonic USB chargers installed in the Amanta Hotel & Residence Ratchada are wall-mounted types that use USB Type-A.
