Panasonic showcases comprehensive energy creation and storage solutions at Intersolar 2012

Munich, May 15, 2012 ?

Panasonic Europe Ltd. is very pleased to announce that it will be showcasing a variety of its energy creation and energy storage technology at Intersolar 2012, the world's largest solar technology trade show, to be held from June 13th to June 15th at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Germany. The company will explain in detail its products and projects to visitors at Stand A1, 170. A live stage will see presentations and discussions to further attract and inspire guests at the Panasonic booth.

As of April 1st 2012, SANYO's highly appraised HIT® solar modules have been rebranded as Panasonic HIT®. They are now an integral part of new Panasonic Eco Solutions Energy Management Europe domain company, which provides comprehensive solutions for both households and businesses, to promote lifestyles with virtually zero CO2 emissions throughout the world. At the Panasonic booth, visitors can follow the cycle from energy creation via solar modules to feed-in via inverters and to storage in battery systems.

New back sheet PV panel for design oriented house owners

On display at the booth will be the new black back sheet solar module, on sale this summer. With the world's highest module efficiency of 18.6 % (with a cell conversion efficiency of 21.1%) among black back sheet modules in the market, this is a powerful alternative for the aesthetically minded house owner. Also on display will be the HIT® N240, the most efficient HIT® solar module to date with a module conversion efficiency of 19.0% (with a cell conversion efficiency of 21.6%) and the HIT® H250, with a module conversion efficiency of 18.0 % (with a cell conversion efficiency of 20.8%). The booth further offers closer insights into cell production, giving extra information on HIT® solar modules, which are based on thin mono-crystalline silicon wafers surrounded by ultra-thin amorphous silicon layers. As well as having high efficiency, HIT® modules are also renowned for their unparalleled reliability ? being the only PV manufacturer to publish their warranty claims, Panasonic is proud to state an incredibly low 0.0022 % on product performance in the EU market.

In addition, the booth will also feature the "Smart Energy Storage? (SES), a Lithium-ion battery with customizable battery management system. The Smart Energy Storage is ideal for a wide variety of energy storage applications, from small scale residential systems to large scale storage systems, allowing for a wide variety of benefits ranging from electricity cost reductions for individual consumers by increasing self-consumption of electricity to reducing the usage of electricity from the grid to grid stabilization for grid operators and utility companies. SES has been successfully adapted by industry partners launching their products in the spring of 2012.

As Panasonic is aiming to become the No. 1 Green Energy Company in the Electronics Industry by 2018, the company is moving towards providing solutions for clean, sustainable energy. And the effects have been most inspiring, as visitors will agree after seeing the presentation on the Tokai University Solar Car, which won the World Solar Challenge 2011.
