[News] Panasonic Donates 3,900 Solar Lanterns to the Philippines

In February 2017, we donated 3,900 solar lanterns to 14 humanitarian and non-governmental organizations in the Philippines. The latest donation drive has brought this initiative to its 4th year and with a total of 9,714 pieces of solar lanterns.

On February 14, 2017, a donation ceremony was held at Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) in Taytay, Rizal. We donated 3,900 solar lanterns to 14 humanitarian and non-governmental organizations in the Philippines. Out of these 3,900 pieces, 1,500 were personal donations made by employees.

Panasonic will continue to deliver solar lanterns to people in need of light by collaborating with NPO/NGOs who work particularly in rural areas, so that we can contribute to helping solve various social issues and be a positive change agent in people's lives, and thus to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
