Solving social issues due to aging "Yada-Panasonic Wellness Smart-Town Yixing" creates a "healthy lifestyle"

The aging of society, which has become a major issue in Chinese society, has become even more serious in recent years, and systems, facilities, and infrastructure have not been able to keep up with the rapid aging of the population, and the government has announced that it will focus on providing care for the elderly at home.
Furthermore, the SARS and PM 2.5 after the 2000s, and COVID-19 have increased interest in hygiene and health in China. In addition, as a result of the spread of goods that can be bought with money through digitalization and economic growth in recent years, people’s mindset is shifting toward "living better" and a focus on a direction that reflects their individual lifestyles.

Against this backdrop, Panasonic is working with local developer YaDa to develop Yixing, Yada-Panasonic Wellness Smart-Town, a health-oriented retirement town with the aim of solving social issues in China and providing people with a better life by making full use of the technologies that have been cultivated through our development over time and that put greater value on our lifestyle.

Yada-Panasonic Wellness Smart-Town will be located on a 4 million square-meter site to be developed by YaDa in Yixing. A total of 1,170 homes will be built on a 300,000 square-meter plot of land fully equipped with Panasonic equipment.

Creating a healthy life cycle with the residents, and integrated solutions for living environments and services

Based on the concept of "Wellness Smart Town" (WST), Yada-Panasonic Wellness Smart-Town Yixing not only designed the interior of homes, but also the common areas of the town. In addition, by building a Wellness Smart Town by using IoT technology, we are striving to improve the lives of individuals.

WST's IoT platform consists of three layers: a "health space system" that monitors the physical and mental health of residents and maintains an optimal living environment; a "health management platform" that supports health activities tailored to each individual; and a "health service platform" that links residents with health services to enable health-related activities.

For example, it is possible to obtain daily health data from residential facilities such as Smart toilet, understand the health status of residents, and use these data to propose health improvements in cooperation with service providers of medical care, exercise, and meals in community facilities within WST. In addition to controlling the living space, WST aims to optimize the life cycle of residents by enabling them to live in their own homes and communities, thereby helping them achieve a healthy life span and a better life.

WSH: Providing a comfortable living space with cutting-edge air, light, and water technology

The "Wellness Smart House" (WSH), which is equipped with the "Health Space System," the core of WST's health promotion, monitors the physical and mental health of residents and maintains an optimal living environment for each resident, allowing them to lead a comfortable life, focusing on three factors: air, light, and water.

Utilize data to support the health of residents throughout the city

Vital data acquired by IoT equipment such as vital toilets is uploaded to the cloud of the "health management platform," allowing residents to browse their data history through the app and receive health advice from the serviceproviders. As residents become capable of monitoring their own condition, they can get highly motivated to run a health cycle, encouraging them to carry out effective health-related activities, and learn the results of improvements. We are also planning to share the data with service providers on the "Health Service Platform" to help develop and improve services tailored to the residents of WST.

Panasonic Health and Smart living Ceter opened in Yada-Panasonic WST

The Panasonic Health and Intelligence Living Center opened on July 19, 2021, ahead of the housing complex. The facility not only serves as a base for providing health services to residents in the company district and as a community for residents, but also functions as a model room for healthy living spaces and a comprehensive exhibition of lifestyle updates.
In addition to introducing the concept and design proposals for healthy living spaces to prospective buyers, we will also have a concierge on hand to provide daily health support such as health service recommendations and MIC certification for residents.

The Panasonic and Yada-Panasonic Wellness Smart-Town Yixing concepts will be exhibited in the entrance hall.

In the model room area, we will exhibit "health/nursing" products and "cleanliness" products, aiming to increase awareness of Panasonic's lifestyle update technologies.

In the future, we will expand horizontally into the ASEAN region

Yada-Panasonic Wellness Smart-Town Yixing is also attracting attention in China, and after its completion, it is expected to welcome 50,000 visitors annually from local governments and developers.
In the future, we will accumulate know-how such as data utilization at WST in China, aiming for horizontal deployment of urban development solutions in the ASEAN region.
