High color rendering

High color rendering types of LED lights are characterized by how they reproduce color as closely as possibly to sunlight. Conventionally, incandescent light bulbs (which have high color fidelity) have been used as lighting to achieve high color rendering; however, there is also a wide lineup of LED lighting products that enhance color rendering to create an environment that enables the selection of the most suitable product for each intended use or field of application. Lighting fixtures that have a color rendering index (CRI) of 80 or above are defined as high color rendering types, and the higher the CRI value, the closer the color appearance is to its appearance in natural light. Furthermore, in contrast to conventional fluorescent lights (for which “high color rendering type” often refers to lights with CRI80 or above), among the LED lights “high color rendering type” often refers to lights with CRI90 or above.

The appearance of an object changes in accordance with color rendering.
